Skills – upon completion the learner will be able to:
a) Use welding safety protective clothing under direct supervision.
b) Identify good practice in fusion welding, under direct supervision.
c) Identify the tools and parts of equipment used in the welding workshop
d) Cut mild steel plates with gas cutting method under direct supervision.
e) Identify possible trouble shooting problems encountered using a welding equipment such as: ‘earth’ is not in the right place; current spill out of wires; damages in electrode holder and asking for assistance from the supervisor.
f) Identify types of gases needed to work as per colour coding.
g) Simulate appropriate behaviour within different social context
h) Consider whether different project can be cost effective
i) Use the basic equipment without causing damage to it.
